Synchrony Commits $200,000 to Prevent Family Homelessness

Grant of $200,000 will help divert local families from shelter

June 7, 2018
Synchrony has made a generous grant of $200,000 to the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness’s be homeful project to prevent the homelessness of families in Stamford and Fairfield County.
Since its launch in 2015, the be homeful project has prevented more than 200 families, including 450 children in Connecticut from becoming homeless. This will be Synchrony’s second year supporting the project, which provides critically-needed emergency assistance funds that frontline workers in the region can access to help families seeking shelter stay in their homes.

“Synchrony continues to make strategic partnerships with organizations that are making differences in our communities – Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness is doing just that.” said Denise Yap, SVP, Corporate Citizenship. “Synchrony is committed to making a difference in the lives of working families in Connecticut by providing them tools and resources to move forward at all stages of their lives.”

“The progress we have made in partnership with Synchrony is tremendous,” explains Lisa Tepper Bates, Chief Executive Officer of the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness. “We are proud that the be homeful project has prevented hundreds of families and children in our state from ever having to experience the trauma of homelessness and grateful to our friends at Synchrony for their commitment to Connecticut families.”
