The new normal for shelter providers in our state will include systematic COVID-19 testing, isolating and cohorting residents, and operating at lower capacity. Shelter providers in Connecticut can learn from the experience of the Open Hearth, the first shelter in Connecticut to implement systematic COVID-19 testing. Executive Director Marilyn Rossetti and City of Hartford Health and Human Services Director Liany Arroyo will share the summary results from the bi-weekly COVID-19 testing that has been taking place in her programs and lessons and tips for how to make testing successful. She will also share how testing and rapid isolation are keeping the staff and residents at the Open Hearth safe. Director of HMIS and Strategic Analysis Linda Casey will also share how COVID-19 testing information is being captured in HMIS and how that information can be entered, access, and used to facilitate cohorting and contact tracing.
