Queering Care: Serving LGBTQ Homeless & Unstably Housed Youth and Young Adults

January 11, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

An estimated 20%-40% of the more than 1.6 million homeless youth in the United States identify as LGBTQ. As providers, effectively serving this community is essential to ending youth and young adult homelessness.

This training will address the diverse experiences of queer and trans at-risk youth and equip participants with the language and conceptual understanding they need to provide informed and effective care to this population. The training will clarify best practices against a backdrop of evolving legal rights, fair housing, healthcare politics, and the structural barriers to health and stability facing this populations.
