Disabilities in Shelters training will give shelter providers best practices on optimizing the quality of service provided to those presenting at shelters with varying disabilities. This training brings together representatives from the CT Fair Housing Center, New England ADA Center and the Americans with Disabilities Act Coalition of CT to highlight what the Fair Housing Act and Americans with Disabilities Act do to protect individuals with disabilities and outlines how they apply to shelters. Trainers will review related policies, “dos and don’ts”, and walk through scenarios. There will also be plenty of time for Q&A.
