December Shelter Diversion

December 19, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Shelter Diversion is a strategy that prevents homelessness at the front door by helping people identify immediate alternate housing arrangements and, if necessary, connecting them with services and financial assistance to help them return to permanent housing. Shelter Diversion programs can reduce the number of families and individuals becoming homeless, the demand for shelter beds, and the size of program wait lists.
In this training we explore several Shelter Diversion strategies, based on the innovative work of Ed Boyte from the Cleveland Mediation Center. Please note that this training draws from the Diversion trainings held with Ed Boyte in February 2016 and this training will essentially review the same material.
Who should attend:

Front-line staff, program management, case managers, coordinated entry staff, and others working directly with individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
