Appropriations Public Hearings Announced!


Governor Malloy and our legislative leaders have long understood and supported the importance of ending homelessness in our state in both fiscal and human terms. The proposed budget preserves essential line items for maintaining statewide efforts to end homelessness. Please show your support and help us highlight the need for protecting these critical funds by attending or submitting testimony at the hearings below.


Friday, February 17th
Department of Housing

Preserve DOH Housing and Homelessness line item–$73.7M
Frontline homeless services, outreach, emergency shelters, and the Rental Assistance Program (RAP), which is critical to supportive housing, are essential to aid those who have fallen into homelessness and move them quickly to housing.

Preserve the Homeless Youth line item –$2.3M
These funds support youth outreach services, crisis housing for youth, and housing services and supports, which are essential to transition youth from crisis to stability.

These services are an essential component of the supportive housing model that is proven to support housing stability for people experiencing chronic homelessness, and fundamental to maintaining our progress to end homelessness for this population.
